Lisa Hopper will be our guest speaker for the April 1st luncheon held at the Arizona Inn. Lisa Hopper is the founder and CEO of World Care, an international humanitarian aid organization, headquartered in Tucson.
In 1994, Lisa began collecting school supplies in her garage for local children in need.¬†Every year World Care reuses and recycles nearly 2 million pounds of material by channeling usable items to global humanitarian aid programs and diverting non-usable items from landfills to be broken down and recycled. World Care‚Äôs mission is to provide¬†humanitarian relief by recycling surplus materials and supply to create usable resources for health, education and sustainable communities worldwide. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration and Physics from Georgetown University. She is an international lecturer and consultant as well as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Arizona Honors College in International Studies and Social Entrepreneurship. Lisa released her first book in the Fall 2010 entitled ‚ÄúIn the Wake of a Dream.‚ÄĚ
In addition to Lisa’s presentation, we will also hear briefly from Tiane Kennedy, Public Relations Director of GAP Ministries. Tiane will give us an overview of the programs her organization offers.
